Train Restoration Begins
Society's First Working B on the J-550
The Noojee and District Historical Society held its first working B at the J-550 on June 3rd, 2012. Members arrived enthusiastically on the day to start minor cosmetic restoration on the train and surrounding fencing. Bitter weather and frequent rain couldn't deter the members present from their work which included rust removal, rust converter aplication while also erecting new fencing to replace a damaged pannel.
The day was topped off with a lovely, well deserved BBQ accompanied by piping hot coffee's at the park.
The Society is looking forward to starting the next stage of restoration on the train.
Train Restoration Update - July 1st, 2012
On June 24th, 2012 members of the Noojee Historical Society spent the day pressure washing the loco. The train hasn't looked this good in years as the pressure cleaning provided a much needed face lift that it so desperately needed. The end result being the removal of all fungi, moss and loose, flaking paint.
We would like to say a huge thank you to VC Traders Warragul for donating the pressure cleaner for the weekend.
