Noojee Gets the Train
On April 11th, 2012 the Baw Baw Shire council decided in a 3-2 vote that the Noojee and District Historical Society be made the custodians of the J-550 currently residing at Rotary Park, Warragul.
The group was overwhelmed by the councils decision and to celebrate the Society went to Rotary Park to greet the newest member of the group, the steam train.
The feeling of seeing the loco silhouetted against the night sky for the first time since aquiring it was an exhilirating experience and will never be forgotten by the members present.
Once relocated the J-550 will sit as a static display on the original Noojee railway station site and play a major part in the Society's vision for the Heritage Project Centre.
