Meeting With The Governor 2012

On April 19th, 2012 the Noojee and District Historical Society had the honour of participating in a brunch with the Governor of Victoria, Alex Chernov, his wife along with the Baw Baw Shire Mayor and other council members.

It was an opportunity for the Society to share plans of the development with the Governor who seemed quite impressed with the progress the group had made so far. He was intrigued with the redevelopment plans for the original railway site and the Society was amazed at how down to earth and approachable the Governor was.

The brunch was held at the Outpost Restaurant at 10am. Barb and John Snelli were the perfect hosts, providing an assortment of delicious home made cakes and hot finger food.

Overall, the brunch was a huge success and the Society welcomed the Governor to return once the J-550 locomotive has been relocated in Noojee.
